Job Overview
Under close supervision, perform inspection and test of production product quality in accordance with established procedures and time limitations.
A Day In The Life
- Perform visual and electrical inspections and tests of products and subassemblies, in accordance with established test procedures and workmanship specifications.
- Develop a working knowledge of the names and mechanical appearance of various electronic components, materials, and electronic measuring equipment:
- perform electrical set-ups from drawings and electric diagrams using various types of electronic measuring equipment.
- Accurately document information on all inspections and tests on appropriate QA reporting forms:
- daily logs;
- time sheets;
- failure reports.
- Advise the Supervisor - Production Test of respective production effects and/or problems with test fixtures.
- Interpret bills of materials, written test procedures, assembly drawings, and engineering documentation:
- perform simple data retrieval on a computer terminal.
- Perform simple troubleshooting tasks, accurately documenting all defect information on Product Failure Reports.
- Collaborate with Quality Engineering to resolve problems regarding test fixtures, equipment, and test procedures during prototype and released production product builds.
- Provide support to other departments by troubleshooting and repairing units or circuit boards on the production floor as needed. This includes responding to requests for technical assistance, diagnosing issues, and implementing repairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 35 lbs. and transport, good mobility. Must be able to distinguish and identify different components/part colors. Must be able to successfully distinguish between various test equipment signals and test indictors. Able to sit or stand for prolong periods of time.

Preferred Skills:
- High School diploma or equivalent; prefer a technical degree or previous electronics experience.
