Primary Function:

The Quality Assurance Engineer provides quality engineering support to semiconductor and automotive manufacturing operations to ensure products meet stringent customer, regulatory, and reliability requirements. This role focuses on defect prevention, problem resolution, process change control, and compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific standards.

Competency Level

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field)

Experience:

  • 3-5 years' work experience related to Process, Test and Quality Engineering and Quality Management Systems Engineering.

Knowledge, skill and abilities:

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in semiconductor or automotive manufacturing quality
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing process control, defect reduction, and root cause analysis
  • Hands-on experience with 8D, CAPA, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards
  • Effective communication skills for cross-functional and customer interactions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automotive-grade semiconductor products
  • Familiarity with AEC-Q standards, reliability testing, and product qualification
  • Exposure to Internal and customer audits.
  • Experience working in high-volume or statistically controlled manufacturing environments
  • Six Sigma or Quality-related certifications (Green Belt, Black Belt, CQE, ISTQB)

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide QA engineering support for high-volume semiconductor of automotive, commercial, medical, military and aerospace and industrial - grade manufacturing, ensuring stable production, process capability, and product conformance.
  • Establish and maintain quality requirements in alignment with Analog Devices Inc. (ADI) product specifications, automotive customer requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Lead and facilitate 8D problem-solving activities, including root cause analysis (RCA), and drive effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.
  • Act as a quality focal point for internal customers, responding to inquiries related to ADGT operations, quality systems, reliability performance, product qualification, and environmental compliance.
  • Partner with Manufacturing and Process Engineering teams to review and approve changes impacting Control Plans, PFMEA/DFMEA, process flows, and inspection criteria, ensuring risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Support customer specification reviews, PPAP submissions, and customer audits, ensuring all requirements are clearly understood and implemented.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards, including automotive customer-specific requirements (CSRs).
  • Apply strong working knowledge of IATF 16949 Core Tools, including:

1. APQP

2. PFMEA / DFMEA

3. Control Plans

4. PPAP

5. SPC

6. MSA

  • Support product reliability, qualification, and change management activities common to semiconductor and automotive and other product-grade devices.
  • Promote and ensure adherence to the company’s quality, environmental, corporate social responsibilities, health, and safety (QEHS) policies, supporting continuous improvement and zero-defect culture.

For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
