Parks and Recreation Program Supervisor-Facility Operations (Eureka Recreation Center)
Job Description
Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, this position supervises facility staff, including front desk personnel, gym supervisors, and custodial team members. Responsibilities include coordinating facility rentals, supporting program implementation, and collaborating with Parks and Recreation staff and community partners to deliver high-quality programs, activities, and events. The position requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities and provide excellent customer service.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of recreation facility operations, scheduling, and community programming, along with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff and the public.
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with a major in recreation, leisure services, business administration, or a related field; one year of related experience in recreation facility operations or program supervision; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Possession of a valid appropriate driver’s license is required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university with a major in recreation, leisure services or related field; one to two years related experience and/or training in recreation and leisure services; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, risk management plans, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and prepare correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of citizens or employees of organization. Ability to serve as department's liaison with community groups.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to understand and carry out instructions provided in written, or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Possession of a valid appropriate driver's permit issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Professional certification as needed and required.
