Qualification: LLB is a must have. LLM is good to have
Experience: 8+ years
In this role, the individual will provide end-to-end legal support as a commercial contracts lawyer including real estate contracts, service / procurement / technology related contracts, CSR contracts, TPL contracts, Secondment contracts: advising internal clients on various legal issues; coordinating with other internal stakeholders (e.g., Risk, E&C, Finance, Business); and supporting negotiations of legal terms.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrates intimate abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:
- Demonstrating the ability to identify legal issues proactively and to develop and implement negotiation strategies aligned with firm policies and applicable legal principles;
- Applying deep knowledge of Indian contract law and intellectual property law, and the legal principles, liabilities, and risks associated with the acquisition and licensing of products, services, software, and technology;
- With a strong preference for (i) considerable experience at reputable law firm(s) and/or (ii) experience as in-house counsel, preferably for the Indian subsidiary of a multinational company (or Indian multinational)
- Leading complex negotiations of legal terms, reviewing and drafting contract language, and advising on legal issues & coordinating the services of outside legal counsel when necessary as it pertains to supporting a commercial transaction;
- Managing multiple transactions simultaneously, cross border, and responding within tight timelines;
- Writing clear, unambiguous contract terms for a diverse audience of internal stakeholders and third-party vendors; and,
- Communicating clearly and succinctly with all levels of staff across the legal department and
within the firm.
- Experience with a broad range of commercial agreements, including MSAs, SOWs, NDAs, procurement, licensing, real estate such as cowork agreements/lease agreements.
- Ability to calibrate risk positions to business objectives and escalate issues appropriately.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities and excellent judgment, integrity, and a practical, solution-oriented approach.
