Manufacturing Production Control Intern

| WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The Manufacturing Engineering Intern supports day‑to‑day production operations, continuous improvement initiatives, and engineering projects that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency. This role is ideal for a student who enjoys hands-on problem‑solving, data analysis, and learning how products move from design to full‑scale manufacturing.
| WHAT YOU GET TO DO:
- Assist manufacturing engineers with process development, optimization, and documentation
- Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities
- Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities for quality or process issues
- Create or update standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and visual aids
- Participate in time studies, workflow mapping, and ergonomic assessments
- Help design or modify tooling, fixtures, and equipment under engineer supervision
- Collaborate with cross functional teams including production, quality, maintenance, and supply chain
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies
- Assist with equipment validation, testing, and implementation of new processes
Education
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree In Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and basic GD&T concepts
- Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar) is a plus
- Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
- Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn
- Real-world experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing, process engineering, and continuous improvement tools
- Opportunities to lead small projects and present findings to engineering leadership
- Mentorship from experienced engineers and cross functional teams
- A deeper understanding of how products are built, scaled, and optimized
