Overview

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Asset Management and MBA Admissions, leads the recruitment, selection, and enrollment of the strongest possible student body for the Yale School of Management (Yale SOM) Master of Management Studies in Asset Management (MMS-AM) program. Oversees the day-to-day management and execution of admissions activities across the full lifecycle, ensuring effective coordination of recruiting, evaluation, and yield efforts. Provides continuity of leadership across the admissions cycle and serves as a primary liaison to internal and external stakeholders.

Works in close collaboration with the Assistant Dean to develop and implement admissions strategy, and with the Senior Associate Director to ensure alignment between strategic priorities and operational execution. Engages across all aspects of admissions, including recruiting, evaluation, operations, and enrollment, with primary responsibility for recruiting and yield strategy.


Essential Duties include

  • Leads the development and execution of recruitment and outreach strategy for the MMS-AM program, with responsibility for building a strong pipeline of prospective applicants and achieving application and enrollment targets. Establishes goals, monitors key performance indicators, and evaluates outcomes to inform ongoing strategy refinement. Develops and executes outreach initiatives, including virtual and in-person events, institutional partnerships, and engagement with faculty, alumni, and other constituents to expand program visibility and reach.

  • Leads the development and execution of an integrated admissions marketing strategy, in partnership with Yale SOM Communications and program stakeholders, shaping positioning, messaging, and content across channels to drive awareness, engagement, and yield among top early-career candidates.

  • Strategizes and drives admissions yield efforts, including development of programming, communications, and engagement strategies to convert admitted candidates. Monitors enrollment trends and makes data-informed adjustments to meet class size and composition goals.

  • Drives the continued growth and evolution of the MMS-AM by identifying new opportunities, leading innovative program enhancements, and advancing a forward-thinking strategy that responds to shifts in the asset management industry and student demand.

  • Oversees the day-to-day management of admissions activities for the MMS-AM program, ensuring effective execution across recruiting, evaluation, and enrollment processes. Provides ongoing coordination and leadership across the admissions cycle, ensuring continuity and alignment with overall admissions strategy.

  • Serves as a primary liaison to key stakeholders, including the Faculty Director, Program Director, Executive Director of the Swensen Institute, Career Development Office, AASL, Communications, and other Yale SOM departments. Ensures alignment of admissions activities with broader program and institutional priorities.

  • Partners with the Assistant Dean on the development and evolution of admissions strategy, including positioning of the program, assessment of market trends, and identification of opportunities for innovation. Contributes to the ongoing refinement of evaluation approaches, including how candidate information is assessed and incorporated into the selection process.

  • Participates in the evaluation and selection of candidates, including application review, interviewing, and committee discussions.

  • Collaborates with the Senior Associate Director to ensure alignment between recruiting strategy and admissions operations, including application processes, evaluation workflows, and enrollment execution. Provides strategic input on operational enhancements and process improvements.

  • Oversees the hiring and management of contract application readers, ensuring appropriate staffing, training, and alignment with evaluation standards.

  • Supervises, trains, and develops M&P and C&T staff members and student workers, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure effective performance and professional growth.

  • Analyzes and interprets admissions data and trends related to recruiting, evaluation, and yield, using insights to inform strategy and decision-making. Ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of reporting and class profile development in partnership with the Senior Associate Director.

  • Manages the admissions budget for the MMS-AM program, including planning, allocation, and prioritization of resources across recruiting, outreach, and yield activities. Partners with the Senior Associate Director to monitor expenditures and ensure alignment with program goals and institutional guidelines.

  • Represents the MMS-AM program and Yale SOM in a variety of settings, including public presentations, events, and interactions with prospective applicants, students, alumni, and external partners. Provides guidance and counseling to prospective and admitted students, supporting a high-quality and personalized candidate experience.

  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities

1. Ability to travel, both domestically and internationally.

2. High-level analytical and technical skills, including the ability to work with and interpret data using tools such as Excel and CRM/database systems; ability to translate insights into actionable strategy.

3. Strong leadership and management skills, including experience supervising staff and managing complex, cross-functional workstreams.

4. Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced and changing environment.

5. Superior written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences and build relationships with a wide variety of internal and external constituents.


Preferred Skills and Abilities
1. Master's or advanced degree, with several years of experience in career services, student advising, or higher education administration.

2. Experience in developing and implementing new programs and strategies in a university or similar setting.

3. Proven record of successful management and leadership in a career services or student services role.

4. Global orientation with experience working across countries and regions; fluency in more than one language is a plus.

5. Familiarity with the career paths relevant to the student population served, such as arts, education, government, nonprofit, media, and communication.

Principal Responsibilities

1. Initiates, implements, and communicates admission, financial aid, internship, and career services strategic plans, policies, and procedures. Assesses and refines content of recruitment, admissions and career placement programs based on current trends and demographics. 2. Designs, initiates, develops and conducts programs and materials for recruitment seminars and workshops for prospective students, families, secondary schools and alumni committees. Develops and implements career fairs, panels and other programming for student career services. 3. Develops and maintains relationships with employers and internship sponsors to facilitate career opportunity development with external constituencies, including alumni. 4. Develops marketing materials and admissions publications to inform students, prospective students and families about available services, University policy and academic developments. 5. Supervises, develops, and trains a staff of exempt and non-exempt employees. 6. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field and six years of experience in admissions, registration, placement, financial aid, student counseling or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
