Within the Strategy and Transversal Integration organisation of Engineering, the Systems Engineering (SE) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Central Domain is in charge of defining, developing and deploying best-in-class capabilities to support the development of next generation products and improve practices of current programmes, in a very competitive environment.

To support this transformation, the definition and governance of the Systems Engineering Reference System (SERef) is of paramount importance. 

Your location

You will be working at the largest production site for civil aircraft situated in Hamburg. Its location on the southern banks of the river Elbe includes the option to commute by ferry. Your tasks and responsibilities

As a major contributor to the SERef of the Group, your contribution will include:

  • Drive cross-functional and cross-divisional MDAO capability development, adoption & maintenance ensuring MDAO is a high-value, integrated pillar of Airbus Group Systems Engineering.

  • Translate internal returns of experience and external research works into actionable, highly-effective engineering methods and standardized software workflows.

  • Architect the technical interfaces between MDAO tools and the broader Systems Engineering Reference system (SERef), with a view on a seamless integration with all System Engineering assets.

  • Build and Validate the MDAO reference system by applying it to solving complex, real-world industrial use-cases, ensuring technical solutions are fit-for-purpose and bring added engineering value.

  • Act on behalf of the SERef technical authority to scout and integrate emerging MDAO technologies, keeping the Airbus reference system at the cutting-edge.

Desired skills and qualifications

  • Master Degree or Phd in a relevant technical discipline. 

  • A seasoned MDAO practitioner, preferable with  past experience in aeronautics engineering.

  • Knowledgeable in SE, MBSE, and simulation techniques.

  • Past experiences in the engineering of aeronautic systems or of systems of similar technological complexity is highly appreciated.

  • An autonomous and entrepreneurial mindset, highly motivated to be part of the transformation of Airbus through supporting people and promoting new, disruptive capabilities.

  • Relatable and possessing outstanding communication skills. Knowledgeable in agile development processes is appreciated.
