Website: https://www.publicisresources.com Overview Objective The role focuses on executing and supporting tax compliance and advisory activities covering Malaysian corporate income tax (CIT), Sales and Service Tax (SST), and transfer pricing. The Senior Tax Associate is responsible for preparing tax filings, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) and Royal Malaysian Customs Department requirements. Responsibilities Tax Compliance Prepare Malaysian CIT computations, returns, and supporting schedules. Handle SST compliance including preparation, reconciliation, and filing of SST returns. Assist in withholding tax calculations and filings for cross-border payments. Support transfer pricing compliance including Local File preparation and intercompany documentation. Ensure timely and accurate submission of all tax filings and payments in accordance with statutory deadlines. Tax Reporting & Audit Support Compile and analyse financial and operational data required for tax reporting and audits. Draft responses to LHDN and Customs queries and support tax audit and investigation processes. Assist in tax provisioning and reconciliation between tax and financial statements. Identify potential tax risks and escalate issues to the Tax Manager. Business Compliance & Teamwork Ensure a sound understanding of, and compliance with, all policies including Janus relevant to the role. Actively develop and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across business processes. Maintain communication and behaviour standards that foster a culture of strong customer and service excellence. Qualifications Academic and Training Requirements Formal Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Law. Work Experience At least 5 years of actual working experience in Malaysia taxation with accounting firm(s). Practical experience in CIT, SST, and transfer pricing compliance. Working experience with a reputable multinational company is a plus. Experience with Media & Advertising Industry is an added advantage. Languages English - advanced or fluent Technical skills Deep knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations (CIT, SST, WHT, transfer pricing). Practical experience with LHDN and Royal Malaysian Customs Department processes. Ability to prepare tax computations, reconciliations, and supporting schedules. Soft skills Good communication skills, team player, results orientation. Ability to manage work efficiently, independently, and within constrained timelines. Tools specific knowledge Working knowledge of ERP packages (e.g., Oracle) and MS Office Additional information Preferred: AI-Related Exposure Demonstrates a proactive and pragmatic approach to leveraging AI and automation tools to improve tax processes, with a focus on actively identifying practical use cases and efficiency gains.
