Purpose of the role
Play a key role within the Corporate Communications department of Wizz Air, which manages the reputation of the company, develops brand awareness, and secures international press. The role requires agility, fast decision-making, and has room for expansion.
Responsibilities
- Represent the company at media events and act as spokesperson, giving interviews to media (TV, Radio, print).
- Cultivate relationships with key business and mainstream journalists in national and trade publications across Europe and beyond.
- Develop compelling story angles.
- Write clear and compelling communications materials such as press releases and presentations, update boilerplates, data sheets, and maintain department archives.
- Coordinate activities of external agencies.
- Coordinate and channel media requests and enquiries in a timely manner.
- Pitch stories to media and achieve highest visibility online, in print, broadcast, TV, and in all Wizz Air markets.
- Assist in production of events' pre and post-production.
- Conduct media tracking and tabulation.
- Keep contact databases up to date.
- Update key messages and media FAQs where required.
- Stay current with marketing trends, innovations, communication techniques, and media regulations.
- Develop and maintain country fact sheets.
Experience
3-5+ years overall working experience with 2+ years of relevant experience in public relations and/or communications.
Hard skills
Proficient in MS Office applications.
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a Business-related subject.
Language
Excellent command of written and spoken English; Command of Hungarian or another European language is a plus.
