What's the job?

Responsibilities:

  • Providing financial support to our banner property finance teams and supporting the with all financial matters.
  • Support the annual Store performance review to provide insight into the performance of our stores across the Kingfisher estate, identifying areas of concern or where improvement is needed and supporting in action planning.
  • Support the monthly reporting and forecasting process reviewing property capital expenditure and preparing both a monthly pack and a property pipeline report covering expansion, maintenance & energy initiatives as well as monitoring of IFRS16 banner reporting
  • Leading the budget review process and supporting with analysis to support strategic priorities.
  • Support the Post Investment Review (PIR) process detailing how recent projects with significant capital expenditure (covering over £600m capex) have performed since approval, identifying key lessons and findings and preparing the relevant presentations for onward presentation to the GE and PLC board;
  • Act as a key contact for our external valuers for the annual process for reporting the market value of our owned properties (worth c£3bn) which is required for Year End disclosures;
  • Lead the property sections of the Question & Answer pack to support Investor Relations as part of external market updates at Half Year and Year End;
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and insight as and when required including supporting the GIC process, such as new property business cases & opportunities for lease renegotiations.
  • Provide support as required with Energy performance tracking to support our company Sustainability objectives.

What you'll bring

Qualifications:

  • Intermediate or advanced Excel skills;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Strong communication skills;
  • Flexible and adaptable, including willingness to travel;
  • Enthusiasm to learn and develop new skills
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial reporting, accountancy, audit, or similar related finance function
  • At least Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting and/or Mathematics
  • Very good written and spoken English
  • Basic understanding of IFRS or local GAAP
  • Great numerical and analytical ability
