Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving 400,000 people living in central, western and Midcoastal Maine. Other system services include the Central Maine Heart and Vascular Institute, a regional trauma program, LifeFlight of Maine's southern Maine base, the Central Maine Comprehensive Cancer Center and other high-quality clinical services.

 

We are seeking a full time Advance Practice Provider to join our Endocrine team. 

 

Responsibilities

The Nurse Practitioner focuses on providing general care to patients 18 years old and above, with utmost patience, care, compassion and understanding. Perform tasks within their scope of practice which may include conducting tests, recording medical histories, providing treatments and diabetes education, assisting physicians and enhancing public awareness on the importance of health, and prescribing medications.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • MSN with specialization as an APRN
  • Current state license as an Nurse Practitioner
  • BLS upon hire and maintain current
  • Two years as nurse practitioner in Endocrinology & Diabetes preferred or two years as a nurse practitioner in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine clinic
  • Experience with electronic health record systems 
 
SKILLS
  • Insulin pumps
  • Continuous glucose monitors (CGM's)
  • Intense insulin regimens
  • Lead or co-lead SMA's (shared medical appointments), offering medical assessments within a group setting
