Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) – Nighttime Admissions Role

 

 

Location: Central Maine Medical Center – Lewiston

Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time

Schedule: Nights - 7pm to 7am

 

 

Position Overview

 

Central Maine Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our inpatient team in a admissions-focused role.

 

The APP will focus on new patient admissions, ensuring timely, high-quality evaluations and seamless coordination of care. In addition to admissions, the APP will also manage inpatient surgical patients. 

 

 

Preferred Experience

  • Clinical rotations in internal medicine, hospital medicine, or acute care
  • Exposure to admissions workflow and inpatient care coordination

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive history and physicals for new admissions
  • Perform detailed clinical assessments and develop care plans
  • Collaborate closely with attending physicians and hospitalists
  • Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic tests
  • Document all encounters accurately in the EMR
  • Coordinate care with nursing, case management, and ancillary services
  • Assist with care transitions and discharge planning as appropriate

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
  • Active or eligible for Maine licensure
  • Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
