Job Responsibilities

 

Manage the Product Development Process (PDP) for assigned product development projects, including new market entries, model redesigns, system upgrades, and major product modifications. Projects may be complex and concurrent with dependencies on other projects and departments. Under general supervision, oversee project scope, schedule, budget, quality, cost targets, and overall development performance. This role reports to the onsite Chief Engineer with a dotted line to the Senior Manager of Program Management.

 

  • Project Management - Lead assigned PDP projects from concept through production launch and closure. Define project scope, goals, schedules, budgets, performance targets, and quality objectives. Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget, resolve issues, adjust plans as needed, and ensure successful product introduction. Conduct post-project reviews. Support parts tracking and manage inventory disposition during development builds (DV/MCS).
  • Leadership and Communication - Facilitate project meetings, maintain accurate project documentation, and communicate progress, risks, and deviations to team members, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Organizational Development - Build team capability through coaching and mentoring. Collaborate with other Program Managers and provide task prioritization guidance to technical staff as project needs dictate. Continue professional development.
  • Product and Cross-Functional Support - Support PDP-related compliance efforts (e.g., ISO, EU requirements). May represent the company in explaining PDP practices and recommend process improvements as approved by management. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience in materials control, production planning, project management, or product development
  • Good computer, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and project management software
  • Ability to build relationships and collaborate across business units
  • Willingness to travel occasionally with overnight stays (0–5%)

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Degree in Project Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Knowledge of company department interdependencies
