WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide Dealers and related third Parties with world class technical information and diagnostic tools to effectively and efficiently maintain and repair Hyundai and Genesis vehicles in the US.
  • Provide Dealers with in-dealer onsite technical support direction for difficult / high priority vehicle diagnosis and repair. Support high priority Safety and Quality problem investigations and technical TFT dealer visits.
  • Provide Dealers with an essential tools and equipment program to exceed their efficiency and productivity needs for vehicle diagnosis and repair. Manage dealer compliance, maintenance, and proactive improvements to support business and operational planning objectives.
  • Support achieving company objectives for Fix Right First Time in support of benchmark levels of Service Satisfaction/CSI and Total Cost of Quality including warranty cost. Support NHTSA compliance through effective support of recall/campaign completion. 

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Lead publication of Service Manuals, Technical Information, TSBs, and related materials in collaboration with HMC and Quality/Service Engineering, leveraging omnichannel technology for dealer and industry access.
  • Collaborate with HMC and key affiliates to develop, implement, and support global diagnostic tool platforms and applications for dealers and approved third parties.
  • Lead the Field Service Engineering (FSE) group to provide in-dealer and onsite technical support.
  • Support QSE, NASO, and HMC with urgent onsite investigations or TFT activity as needed.
  • Document all activities and investigations in the appropriate systems.
  • Validate the effectiveness of Technical Information and Diagnostic Tools, recommend improvements, and periodically verify dealer tool compliance.
  • Conduct dealer technical and tool process evaluations.
  • Ensure FSEs have appropriate training, equipment, and information.
  • Partner with Regional and National teams to support key CA, Techline/PA, and FASTVAC cases onsite.
  • Work closely with Quality and Service Engineering to identify and define quality issues and report potential safety concerns per NASO processes.
  • Lead the Special Service Tools team, including EV and Fuel Cell programs, ensuring alignment with industry best practices for technician efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop staffing strategies, recruit, train, motivate, and retain employees per HMNA policies.
  • Develop and manage business plans, budgets, vendors, RFPs, contracts, purchases, and payments.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support company objectives and lead employee performance management, travel approvals, and policy governance.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Must be a high school graduate.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering or related science.
  • Master’s degree a plus.
  • Ten or more years of related Automotive or similar technical industry experience required.
  • Three or more years of Managerial experience desired.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
  • Thorough automotive technical knowledge required.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving ability.
  • Strong data management/general and statistical analysis/reporting capabilities.
  • Strong organizational skills yet flexible to accomplish objectives that are often subject to change.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.

  • Compensation Range: $137,025.00 - $203,000.00 annual base salary

OTHER DETAILS

  • Normal office duties.
  • Occasional lifting and/or vehicle mechanical assembly/disassembly.
  • Work requires vehicle evaluations, travel to meetings, site visits, and inspections. This requires possession of a valid state driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
  • Up to 25% domestic travel and occasional international travel, including Korea.
