About the ward
Ward 5.1 is a 16-bed acute medical unit with additional flex capacity open during the morning shifts only. The proposed model of care is an Accelerated Acute Medical Unit (AAMU) model for short stay General Medicine patients with an expected Length of Stay (LOS) of 48 to 72 hours.
About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity for senior nurses who are seeking to take the next step in their leadership journey. In this role you will support the Nurse Manager and be responsible for shift coordination and running the department. You will also have a portfolio for which you’ll be responsible. You’ll be cool under pressure, a multi-tasker, and approachable. You will be confident managing the unexpected, an excellent communicator, and a highly skilled clinician who can work autonomously, yet simultaneously be part of a team.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) via AHPRA
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Previous experience in similar role preferred, but not essential
- Ability to commit to working a rotating roster
- A willingness to embrace Eastern Health values and contribute to a positive team culture
- Excellent patient assessment skills and attention to detail
