Come join our expanding team in the Warfare Systems Business Group at HII-Mission Technologies! We are seeking talented Data Architects to play a pivotal role in supporting Executive Order projects. This high-impact position focuses on enhancing a centralized data environment (CDE) that delivers auditable financial transaction data, improves transparency and accountability across DoW, and builds a robust common operating picture for senior leadership decision-making.
Successful candidates are expert Python developers with strong relational database (SQL) skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a collaborative mindset. You will translate strategic imperatives into actionable data solutions—ensuring the right data reaches the right stakeholders at the right time to drive mission success in a dynamic national security environment.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Designs, models, documents, and governs the logical and conceptual data architectures, relationships, and schema evolutions for complex, enterprise-scale applications in support of tracking and accountability reforms.
- Analyzes current and emerging system requirements, then develops comprehensive technical, structural, and organizational specifications to enable auditable, transparent data flows.
- Establishes and enforces data modeling standards, capacity planning, and performance optimization to support high-reliability DoW environments.
- Develops robust Python-based scripts and ETL/ELT pipelines for efficient, secure data ingestion, transformation, and integration from diverse sources.
- Leverages deep expertise in Relational Databases (SQL) for advanced querying, schema design, optimization, and data integrity assurance.
- Operates within Agile/SAFe development frameworks to deliver iterative, high-value increments aligned with business priorities and DoW policies.
- Provides technical guidance and mentorship to align development efforts with strategic FMS reform objectives, including enhanced tracking, oversight, and reporting.
- Performs additional duties as assigned or required to advance mission goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven Python development experience, including building scalable data pipelines and automation solutions.
- Ability to work independently while thriving in collaborative team settings.
- Self-motivated initiator with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Clearance: Must possess and maintain an active Secret clearance at the time of consideration
- Remote-eligible position; must align with Eastern Time Zone core business hours

Preferred Requirements
- Strong understanding of transactional data flows, financial management systems, and auditability requirements in DoW/security cooperation contexts.
- Direct experience with ADVANA.
- Advanced SQL proficiency for complex querying, performance tuning, database administration, and optimization.
- Experience in SAFe Agile environments, including participation in PI planning, Scrum/Kanban ceremonies, and DevSecOps practices.
- Candidate who resides in east coast
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods while working at a computer.
- Ability to operate a keyboard, mouse, and standard office equipment to perform analytical tasks.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in virtual meetings, briefings, and secure collaboration environments.
- Ability to review, analyze, and interpret digital data for extended periods with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Occasional light lifting of documents or equipment up to 10 lbs, if needed for home-office setup.
- Must maintain a home work environment that meets company and government security requirements (e.g., controlled space for handling sensitive or FOUO information, if applicable).
