Minimum Qualifications: Four years of experience in landscaping, property maintenance, construction, and/or facility repairs. You can substitute four years of education for experience in the related field. Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook, is required. Preferred Qualifications: Individuals with maintenance experience, who also have experience with fishing, boating, youth mentorship, education and comparable youth interactions will be given preference. Requirements: Employment in this position is contingent upon a satisfactory Level  1 & Level 2 background check at no cost to the candidate. Office hours are from 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday. Not eligible for Telework. Position Overview and Responsibilities: Monitor and maintain facilities, property, and equipment for proactive preventative maintenance needs; conduct monthly assessment of maintenance needs; perform repairs as needed to ensure everything is clean and in good working order. Perform all landscaping duties to site that may include but are not limited to mowing, line trimming, edging, and tree trimming. Assist with projects in the trades fields that include plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry. Inspect facilities for cleanliness and address concerns throughout the site. Assist with outdoor educational programming as needed that may include fishing, kayaking, archery, and leading interpretative walks. Maintain interpretative trails and lead groups throughout the site. Lead volunteer groups on environmental projects in coordination with SYCC and/or MFEC Complete logs, files, and documentation accurately and on time. Help create scopes of work for Invitations to Bid and for Requests for Quotations. Perform other related duties as required. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of general methods and techniques used in the repair and/or maintenance of facilities, sites, equipment and grounds. Knowledge of Florida ecosystem functions and resource management techniques required to manage/restore natural communities. Knowledge of fishing, fishing equipment and boating. Knowledge of marine life and their habitats Knowledge of Microsoft programs and familiarity with computers Skills in landscaping tools and services Skills in using a variety of tools and equipment to perform jobs in Carpentry, Electrical and Plumbing. Skills in hauling trailers and equipment to the locations needed (training will be provided) Skills in kayaking and the ability to teach proper kayaking techniques (training will be provided) Skills in leading groups include volunteers or classes. Ability to be a self-starter and motivator. Ability to travel, enter and exit a vehicle or/and vessel without assistance, Ability to lift up to 55 pounds. Ability to withstand exposure to adverse weather conditions. Ability to organize and maintain various logs. Ability to solve problems with little to no supervision Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers Ability to work on a complex team with multiple supervisors Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
