Role Summary
The Fabricator 1 will produce components for multiple construction project types, including precision components and for multiple construction project types. This role will also utilize and set up a variety of automated tools and specialized equipment. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

Key Role Responsibilities - Core
- Operates a variety of types of different of manual and automated equipment producing metal or wood components
- Applies basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) to production activities, such as cutting parts to size or putting multiple parts together in an assembly
- Collects multiple components cut to specific sizes and assembles together an end product
- Packages and loads cut materials and assemblies for transport to project sites as needed
- Accurately reads and understands a tape measure
- Responsible for cleaning up the shop, shop equipment, and common areas
- Uses technology such as tablet computers and multiple types of software to communicate, inform daily work tasks and report progress
- Completes equipment setup on manual and automated shop equipment for new operations without assistance
- Sets up jigs and fixtures to produce repeatable parts
- Completes tooling changes and automated equipment preventive maintenance without assistance
- Uses precision measuring tools, such as calipers, micrometers, etc. to check material, parts, and tooling to the thousandth of an inch
- Checks delivered materials or material ready to be shipped against paper work and make a detailed reporting of variances
- Uses measuring and marking devices to lay out parts and pieces for fabrication.
- Responsible for reading and understanding shop drawings, fabrication drawings, construction drawings, and other drawings applicable to production activities

Education
- High School Diploma or GED (Preferred)
- Apprentice and/or Vocational/Technical/Trade training (Preferred)
- In lieu of the above requirements, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
- 2+ years commercial construction, manufacturing, or fabrication shop experience (Preferred)
Working Environment
- Must be able to lift at least to 50 pounds
- May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold)
- Maintenance facility environment, may be exposed to varying temperatures, moving equipment, noise and exhaust fumes
- Must be willing to work non-traditional hours to meet business needs
- May require working overtime as needed
- Must have reliable transportation
- May require use of respirator
- Must be comfortable working at projected heights and narrow workspace
- Specific environmental and physical requirements may vary by task
