Fire & Smoke Project Manager
Job Description
Lead the Job. Control the Chaos. Set the Standard.
Fire and smoke jobs don’t leave room for mistakes.
This role isn’t about reacting — it’s about leading with control, clarity, and confidence in the field.
We’re building a high-performance fire division with clear standards for execution, communication, and quality—and we’re looking for a Project Manager who can:
- Lead crews with authority in unpredictable environments
- Keep jobs organized, on pace, and under control
- Communicate clearly with homeowners during difficult situations
- Deliver clean, complete jobs without rework or confusion
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who performs under pressure and takes full ownership.
The Role
As a Fire & Smoke Project Manager, you own field execution and team performance across all fire and smoke restoration projects.
You ensure:
- Jobs are controlled, organized, and executed to standard
- Crews perform safely, efficiently, and with accountability
- Homeowners are informed, confident, and taken care of
- Work is completed cleanly, without delays or surprises
You are the standard setter in the field — where leadership turns chaos into structure.
What You’ll Own
- Run fire and smoke projects from first response through completion
- Control jobsite pace, quality, safety, and overall execution
- Lead crews with clear expectations and hold them accountable
- Own homeowner communication and manage expectations throughout the job
- Solve problems early to prevent delays, rework, or missed details
- Ensure documentation is accurate and jobs are completed cleanly
- Coordinate scheduling and support smooth handoffs when needed
What Success Looks Like
You are successful when:
- Jobs run clean, organized, and on schedule
- Crews perform without constant oversight
- Homeowners feel informed and confident throughout the project
- Problems are solved early — not escalated late
- Work is completed without rework, confusion, or missed details
You don’t just run jobs — you control outcomes.
What You Bring
Required:
- 3+ years in restoration, mitigation, or construction field leadership
- Fire and smoke restoration experience
- IICRC FSRT certification (required)
- Experience leading crews and running jobsites
- Strong communication with both crews and homeowners
- Ability to stay organized and decisive under pressure
- High attention to detail in both execution and documentation
Preferred:
- Additional IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, etc.)
- Experience with Encircle or similar tools
Who This Is NOT For
This role is not for you if:
- You lose control of jobs when things get busy or unpredictable
- You avoid holding crews accountable
- You wait for direction instead of leading
- You struggle with communication during high-stress situations
- You overlook details that lead to rework or customer issues
Compensation & Benefits
- $80,000 – $110,000+ base + performance incentives
- Company vehicle or allowance
- Medical, Dental, Vision
- 401(k)
- Paid Time Off
- Ongoing training and development
