Job Summary:

This position is responsible for operating all equipment on a packaging line and instruct general laborers keeping production efficiencies in line. This position requires leadership skills with strict adherence to GMP, sanitation, safety, timekeeping and personal conduct rules. Direct reports include operators, line haulers, Cutters, and General Laborers.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate daily packaging schedule and communicate the run rules with packaging team
  • Review packaging material to ensure appropriate material is being used
  • Communicate with respect to safety of production along with meeting customer specifications
  • Must be able to use various types of equipment to run packaging line
  • Appropriate certifications for pallet jack and QA Metal Detection
  • Responsible for strict adherence to GMPs for all employees; Keep area clean 
  • Responsible for strict adherence to Safety/PPE protocols and procedures for all employees; reporting unsafe conditions to plant management
    • Accurate recordkeeping and specific paperwork
    • Manage employees, line staffing, rotations and employee relations related issues consulting with HR 
    • Organizes cleanliness of packaging line, labels and packaging materials. 
    • Schedule and rotate packaging line employees
    • Monitor Brine Times and appropriate packaging times to Alpma 
    • Maintain Master Sanitation Schedules and document

  • Follows instructions and takes initiative to complete tasks along with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Accountable for the entirety of the line and line’s productivity/efficiency
  • Works as a team with positive attitude and behaviors 
  • Verbal and written communication skills; including ability to read, understand and follow written procedures (SOPs)
  • Flexibility in job roles, assisting team mates along with covering breaks when needed to meet business needs
  • Meet physical demands of role, Honest and high level of Integrity, high degree of personal hygiene per GMPs, dependable attendance to meet business demands

 

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Food manufacturing experience preferred but not required. 

 

 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Able to push, pull and lift at minimum 50lbs. 
  • On your feet for minimum 11hrs 
  • Working in temperature fluctuations; hot to cold environments
  • Fast-paced and organized environment
  • Must be able to reach over your head. 

 



Monday - Thursday, OT as required - 8pm - 6am
