 POSITION SUMMARY

 The DC Assistant Manager: ECommerce & DC OPS supports and helps oversee eCommerce fulfillment operations as the primary focus of the role, while also supporting broader distribution center functions and inventory control processes. This position ensures prompt, efficient, and accurate processing of eCommerce orders, maintains inventory integrity, and assists in managing DC workflows including receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping. The role acts as a key liaison across departments to drive operational excellence, reduce shrink, and improve overall productivity. This role supports the DC Manager in executing daily operations, driving performance, and ensuring alignment across eCommerce, DC workflows, and inventory control functions.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Ecommerce Operations (Primary Focus)

  • Manage daily eCommerce fulfillment operations, including order picking, packing, shipping, and return processing.
  • Oversee workflow and staffing to ensure timely and accurate order processing for customers.
  • Perform and enforce quality control standards on outbound shipments and returned merchandise.
  • Monitor and improve eCommerce processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and throughput.
  • Ensure timely processing of customer returns and proper disposition (restock, RTV, or store transfer).
  • Utilize RF scanners and warehouse systems for inventory movements and order processing.
  • Maintain strong communication with eCommerce support teams and DC leadership.

Distribution Center Operations (Secondary Focus)

  • Support daily DC operations including receiving, put-away, picking, and shipping.
  • Assist in coordinating workflow across departments to maximize productivity and service levels.
  • Help lead and coach hourly associates, setting expectations and supporting performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety standards and conduct regular work area inspections.
  • Assist with logistics coordination, including inbound and outbound shipments and issue resolution.
  • Contribute to reporting and analysis of DC performance metrics.

Inventory Control (Support Function)

  • Monitor inventory accuracy and identify shrink reduction opportunities.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies, including store and DC-related issues.
  • Act as a liaison between DC, stores, accounting, buyers, and eCommerce teams regarding inventory concerns.
  • Review and correct inventory-related reports, freight discrepancies, and on-hand counts.
  • Support inventory tracking for non-standard movements (events, off-site, photoshoots, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot system and process issues related to inventory movement and reporting.

General Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across eCommerce and DC operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be able to lift and move 50 pounds.
  • Minimum of 3 years in an extremely fast-paced warehouse and distribution center processing environment, while managing multiple departments with multiple direct reports.
  • A proven track record of identifying, analyzing, and resolving complex issues to remove obstacles and drive progress.
  • Forward-Thinking ability to proactively monitor trends and anticipate future challenges and opportunities to ensure sustained growth.
  • Possess a high-level understanding of Warehouse Management System (WMS), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, including experience in process development, usage, inventory control, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, freight and parcel company programs, and handheld data collection equipment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with vendors, buyers, store operations, and senior management.
  • Capable of coaching a team to success, as well as holding them accountable for results.
  • Forklift Certification is a plus.
