Looking for a part-time outpatient primary care position on the island? Let's connect. 

Wilmintgon Health Carolina Beach is expanding. We are seeking an experienced NP/PA to provide outpatient primary and walk-in care on Wednesdays and Fridays from 800a-500p. The ideal candidate will enjoy a clinic mix of preventative, chronic care managemet, patient education and walk-in case.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the United States.
  • Certification from an accredited PA or NP program and national certification board.
  • 1 year of demonstrated direct patient care in a NP or PA role in primary care or relevant specialty.
  • Ability to work part-time hours with flexibility to meet patient and clinic needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth platforms.
  • Strong background in patient education, pediatric well-checks and chronic disease management.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient histories and physical examinations to assess health status and identify medical conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medications and ordering diagnostic tests as appropriate.
  • Provide patient education on disease prevention, health maintenance, and management of chronic conditions.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and maintain up-to-date medical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Skills:

The required clinical skills enable the PA/NP to perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop effective treatment plans, and manage acute and chronic conditions efficiently. Communication skills are essential for educating patients and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care. Proficiency with electronic health records facilitates accurate documentation and streamlines workflow. Preferred skills such as advanced life support certifications enhance the ability to respond to emergencies and complex clinical situations. Additionally, familiarity with telehealth technology supports the delivery of care in diverse settings, expanding access for patients in the Carolina Beach area.
