How We Work

Our hybrid work model (3 days in London office) gives us the face-to-face time to have creative conversations, meaningful meetings, make quick decisions, and build relationships. At the same time, it offers the flexibility you need to focus and do your best work.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Principal Product Designer to join Gen's Global Product Design organisation. In this role you will lead UX strategy across a product pillar, drive design craft and execution, and influence company-level product direction through strong design leadership and storytelling. You will work across a distributed, cross-functional team to shape next-generation cybersecurity and consumer digital safety products.

About the Team:

Gen's Global Product Design Team is a diverse, distributed group of designers, researchers, and product managers who collaborate across regions to create user-centred digital experiences. The team works on complex problems across cybersecurity, identity protection, privacy, and financial wellness — applying AI to accelerate workflows and reimagining key user journeys to make digital freedom accessible to everyone.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead collaboration within a product pillar, setting a vision that aligns cross-functional stakeholders across product, engineering, and research

  • Influence company and product strategy through storytelling, using strong narratives to communicate design vision to executive leadership

  • Lead UX strategy with a research-backed approach, grounding product experiences in user needs, market signals, and business priorities

  • Establish best practices in interaction design, information architecture, and visual design for product-wide consistency and impact

  • Drive the evolution of our design system and standards to support scalable, cohesive product experiences

  • Apply AI tools and design methods to speed up iteration and unlock new value for users

  • Shape design processes and lead improvements across the pillar to improve efficiency, quality, and collaboration

  • Mentor designers and create training resources that enhance team effectiveness and design maturity

  • Foster an inclusive, transparent design culture across disciplines and locations

About You:

Education: A degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Experience: Significant experience in product design, with a track record of shipping high-quality B2C products at scale across multiple platforms

Skills:

  • Strategic product thinking with experience developing product goals, identifying opportunities, and making decisions based on user and business impact

  • Deep understanding of user-centred design principles and the ability to apply them to complex, ambiguous problems across end-to-end experiences

  • Hands-on with AI design tools and workflows, actively using them to enhance user experience and streamline design processes

  • Comfortable working within a geographically distributed team across multiple time zones

    Personal Attributes:

    • Visionary leader with a strategic mindset; you can see the big picture while staying close to the craft

    • Passionate and humble; you seek new horizons and remain curious about emerging market trends

    • Thrives in a fast-paced, high-tech environment and comfortable navigating ambiguity across complex, cross-platform problems
