Job Description

Lone Mountain Land Company (LMLC) was formed by private equity firm CrossHarbor Capital Partners to manage the planning, entitlement, building, marketing, and sales of premier resort communities in and around Big Sky, Montana. LMLC is comprised of some of the world’s leading real estate professionals, who together are creating some of the most desirable and successful resort communities, including Yellowstone Club, Spanish Peaks, Moonlight Basin, Crazy Mountain Ranch and Big Sky Town Center.

Position Summary
The Superintendent role is responsible for overseeing daily field operations for assigned construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This role ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company quality standards. The Superintendent serves as the primary on-site leader coordinating subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and field personnel while maintaining strong communication with project management and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all day-to-day field operations on assigned construction projects. 
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and site activities to ensure project schedules are maintained. 
  • Monitor construction progress and proactively identify and resolve field issues and delays. 
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, safety standards, and quality expectations. 
  • Creating and maintaining accurate project schedules to ensure work is properly planned, coordinated, and completed on time.
  • Identify and communicate potential schedule impacts, change orders, and construction conflicts.
  • Mentor and support field staff, project engineers, and labor personnel. 
  • Coordinate delivery schedules and sequencing of materials to avoid project delays.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and enforce compliance with OSHA and company safety policies. 
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to maintain project schedules, budgets, and documentation. 
  • Lead and participate in subcontractor coordination meetings and site walks. 
  • Review construction drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and constructability. 
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and approvals with local jurisdictions and consultants. 
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, field documentation, and project records. 
  • Ensure materials, equipment, and labor resources are available and effectively utilized. 
  • Foster positive working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams. 
  • Represent the company in project meetings and site-related discussions.

  • Advanced negotiation and conflict management skills.
  • Highly skilled in creating and maintaining accurate project schedules to ensure efficient coordination and timely project completion.
  • Highly skilled in reading and understanding project drawings and specifications to ensure accurate execution and compliance with project requirements.
  • Proficiency in project management software and reporting tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Superintendent experience managing projects in excess of $5,000,000.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft Project, Procore, and Bluebeam.
  • Must be OSHA 30 certified or able to become certified prior to commencing work.
  • SWPPP certifications are desired.
  • Must be certified in telehandler operation or able to become certified prior to commencing work.
  • Thorough understanding of contracts, specifications, and building codes.
  • Demonstrated success delivering projects within budget and schedule.
  • Valid driver’s license.
