Job Overview

In this role, a typical day may include:

  • Assembling mechanical components, enclosures, and sub‑assemblies using hand and power tools
  • Reading and following standardized work instructions, drawings, and quality guidelines
  • Preparing parts, hardware, and materials for assembly
  • Performing basic wiring tasks under guidance (routing cables, attaching connectors, securing harnesses)
  • Inspecting completed assemblies for accuracy, alignment, and workmanship
  • Labeling, packaging, or staging completed work for downstream processes
  • Reporting defects, material shortages, or equipment issues
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workstation following 5S principles
  • Communicating with leads and teammates to ensure production goals are met

What will help you thrive in this role?

Preferred Skills:

  • Previous experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, or electrical assembly
  • Familiarity with torque tools, crimpers, wire strippers, or measurement tools
  • Experience reading simple schematics or diagrams
  • Entry‑level mechanical or electrical coursework

 

Physical Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the employee must meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations:

  • Ability to stand for 8–10 hours per shift
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 35–50 lbs occasionally throughout the shift
  • Frequent bending, reaching, crouching, and repetitive hand motions
  • Ability to grip and operate hand tools (screwdrivers, drills, ratchets, crimpers, etc.)
  • Ability to distinguish color‑coded wires or labels (if applicable to the build)
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced production environment with moderate noise
  • Ability to walk, push carts, and move materials within the department
