We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the Student Affairs Office:

Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:

  • Taking on a leadership role within the team and supervising team members in managing a diverse range of scholarships and award schemes to enhance students’ learning opportunities;

  • Formulating policies and regulations governing different types of scholarship funded by the Government, the University and donors;

  • Working collaboratively with inter-departmental units on the establishment of new scholarships and the selection of scholarship recipients;

  • Coaching students to realise their potential for success and strengthening the bonding with different stakeholders;

  • Providing administrative support to relevant committees, preparing reports and conducting analysis to enhance the provisions; and

  • Performing any other duties assigned by the Director of Student Affairs or his/her delegate(s).

 

Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:

  • A recognised degree, preferably a higher degree, with at least eight years of relevant and solid work experience;

  • Demonstrate strong execution skills and a can-do spirit, with the ability to learn quickly;

  • Be resilient and flexible in dealing with emergencies and ambiguities;

  • Excellent leadership and management skills, strong interpersonal and organisational skills with service-oriented and collaborative mindsets;

  • A high level of self-motivation and ownership, be a problem solver who can work independently and collaboratively;

  • In-depth knowledge of student financial support schemes offered by the Government and the University would be a definite advantage; and

  • An excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).

 

Candidates with less relevant experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Student Affairs Manager. Shortlisted candidates may be invited to attend a written test.

An attractive remuneration package, including basic salary, an end-of-contract gratuity, and a discretionary incentive payment, where applicable, will be offered to the right candidates.
