
Education Program Specialist - Part Time
Job Description
The overall purpose of this position is to increase the value of EPSs impact on education across the globe and as a result impact and inspire as many students as possible. The incumbent in this position supports the development, implementation and delivery of educational programs for EPS. These programs and resources target educators, students as well as IEEE volunteers engaged in educational outreach.
The position is primarily responsible for the day-to-day execution of assigned programs, promotional efforts , collecting, assessing and reporting program metrics, ,communicating with key volunteers and stakeholders, and recommending program improvements.
The position provides support to the VP Education and the Education Functional Team and works with the committee chair and other committee members to conduct and execute the business of the committee with a focus on achieving their stated annual goals for education and outreach.
The position reports to the EPS Executive Director, and manages no direct reports. This position works under normal guidelines on overall business strategies and objectives and is a part of the Technicall Activities team within IEEE.
Key Responsibilities
- Project/Program Management of a fast growing initiative.
- Independently manage day-to-day activities of the Electronics Packaging Society (EPS) Undergraduate Hands On program.
- Track high volume of submissions and update online submission forms and surveys.
- Handle multiple administrative priorities including membership processing for student accounts, survey completion follow ups and database management.
- Error free set up of purchase orders and process honorariums.
- Support other Educational programs including but not limited to:
- Verify travel expenses adhere to IEEE and EPS travel guidelines
- Track and process all Education Program payment requests (region, talk, chapter/conference event)
- Process Student travel grants for all supported conferences.
- Set up Distinguished Certificate of Achievement form on Open Water (IEEE platform for Awards) twice a year.
- Verify the minimum requirements for Professional Development hours and ensure all process steps are met for Certificate of Achievement.
- Manages content for education program webpages.
- Manages financial processing (POs, invoices, funding and expense reimbursements) according to established accounting policies and procedures.
- Updates and maintains key performance indicators, metrics and dashboards that can be used to measure the effectiveness and satisfaction with assigned project.
- Supports the work of the EPS Education Functional Team (e.g. Supporting committee chair, agendas, notes, action item follow up, governance, etc.).
- Manages vendors/consultants to support education programs/projects.
- Establishes strong relationships and communicates effectively with key volunteers and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
