Job Description
Mission Information Managers (MIM) will be responsible for the IT Lifecycle Management of KDAM ATARS SMARTNET 160 Mission Planning (MP) systems across 4 Mission Planning complexes. This role involves planning, testing, and maintaining computer hardware and software upgrades that support Xecution Planner (XPlan) and Joint Mission Planning Systems (JMPS) for various Mission Design Series (MDS) aircraft (CV-22, HH-60, UH-1N, and MC/HC-130J).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Manage the lifecycle of all MP assets, including servers, workstations, laptops, and printers.
- Perform as Domain/Network Administrators for the Kirtland SmartNet domain.
- Maintain Mission Planning hardware/software applications and data through Windows 10/11 builds, Active Directory, and Windows Server 2016/2019 support systems.
- Manage accounts for Mission Planning Central (MPC) and National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) to download required system updates for XPlan and JMPS platforms.
- Provide mission information, academic, and MP-related technical support to ensure student progression and graduation.
- Conduct vulnerability management, including patch management and apply applicable STIGs (Security Technical Implementation Guides).
- Manage user accounts, including creation, deletion, password resets, and security group assignments.
- Maintain MP images using a deployment server.
- Install and maintain MP-related software applications and data on approved computers.
- Coordinate with MAJCOM mission planning functional agencies to establish standard system configurations.
- Participate in beta testing and development efforts for MP software.
- Other duties as identified and assigned.
Desired Skills
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited school/college with Mathematics or Computer Science.
- 10 years’ experience with Air Force aircraft preferably C-130/CV-22
- Resource Advisor/Logistics/ADPE experience
- JMPS/XPlan administration experience.
- Experience with hardware/software configuration and deployment.
- Strong communication skills and ability to perform support functions in a face-to-face environment.
- Current DoD Secret Clearance.
Required Education and Experience
- Two years’ experience administering Microsoft Windows-based computers.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016, Windows Server 2016/2019, Active Directory.
- Familiarity with vulnerability management and patch deployment processes.
- Experience with account management in Active Directory.
- Ability to manage and troubleshoot printers and print servers.
- Experience with Group Policy management.
- Experience with MDT (Microsoft Deployment Toolkit) and WDS (Windows Deployment Services).
- LAN administration experience.
- Ability to obtain Security+ certification within 180 days of start date (8570 certification required).
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Must be able to analyze problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. An ability to interpret complex customer requirements and attitudes from verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is desirable. Must be able to calculate figures and numbers, and percentages and be able to draw and interpret graphs. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and drawings.

- Support Kirtland, Davis-Monthan, Joint Base Andrews, and Moody (TBD) locations.
- Maintain 15 Mission Planning rooms across four facilities.
- Manage a total of 160 MP systems (80 JMPS, 80 XPlan), plus laptops, 32 printers, and 16 support servers.
- Must be able to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds.
- Must be able to walk and/or climb stairs and ladders.
- Must be able to accommodate confined spaces.
- Must be able to stoop, bend, and crawl on top or under equipment.
- Must be able to detect odors, noises, bangs, etc., or other sounds to detect discrepancies of malfunctioning equipment.
- Must be able to distinguish colors.
- Must be able to perform Domestic and International travel as required.

- Will be working in areas with risk of injury from electrical applications, moving mechanical parts, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems under pressure and electrical motion systems.
- May be exposed to conditions of extreme heat, airborne particles, and loud noises.
