Material Handler/Upolstery Stager

Summary Job Description

This position is responsible for stocking, pulling, stacking, transporting parts as needed for assigned areas

Essential Duties

• Operate the conveyor belt between Cushion Fill and Upholstery Dept
• Organize and maintain furniture coming in the Upholstery Department
• Help stag work to the Inside Upholstery Departments
• May break down or tear down repairs
• Must be able to move specific product to work areas in a timely manner
• May be required to work in multiple departments or assigned areas
• Ability to learn to identify and measure different types of furniture
• Rotate stock- FIFO (first in first out), as appropriate
• Must be self-motivated with little supervision

Position Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Previous material handling experience a plus

• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds, using proper lifting techniques
• Must have good eye sight and able to wear to protective safety glasses
• Must be able to push furniture across the concrete floor
• Must be able to walk and stand for 9-hour shift, on concrete floors
• Must be able to push, pull, lift, twist, stoop, and carry supplies
• Must be able to work independently, yet able to communicate and get along with others
