Job Summary:

Under the scope of the Director of Quality for the South Region, the Manager Nursing Quality and Safety manages the high reliability, safety, quality, and infection prevention connection with our nursing and patient care services teams at FHFM. Has basic knowledge of preventing and controlling infections in the healthcare setting. Understands methods needed to reduce risks of infections and communicable diseases. Implements infection prevention and control processes at FHFM and NEMG.
Is the nursing leader for regulatory accreditation, partnering with the quality regulatory department to assure compliance with national, state, and local regulatory requirements. Activities for the organization include assuring compliance with patient safety principles and managing hospital wide safety and quality efforts at FHFM. Direct accountability for Case Management department at FHFM.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

Five (5) or more years of related work experience, including quality safety, and infection prevention experience, in a hospital setting is required. Formal or informal experience leading people or teams to achieve an objective or goal is required. Minimum of 2 years of direct nursing care preferred.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Advanced understanding of clinical and operational processes, workflow, and clinical terminologies. Proven ability to direct the activities of project personnel toward successful execution of the assigned programs. Knowledge and desire to move forward as a highly reliable organization working multidisciplinary teams for sustained improvements. Knowledge of requirements for healthcare organizations from agencies such as The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare &Medicaid Services (CMS), and other regulatory groups. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Presentation skills. Able to facilitate meetings. Interpersonal skills to collaborate with leaders/departments to develop, monitor, and maintain improvement strategies for compliance with established standards.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact).
