Secondary Teacher (English and Maths) - Mt Maria College, PETRIE

About the opportunity

We are seeking an energetic and motivated Teacher to join Mt Maria College, Petrie teaching English and Mathematics subjects. Our teachers encourage student engagement through inquiry pedagogy, thinking outside the box and making real world links to careers and pathways. This role will include Middle Phase classes in English and Mathematics; however, experience and interest in teaching Senior subjects would be desirable and may be included in the load. Graduates are encouraged to apply and you will be supported by an Early Career Teacher (ECT) program.

In this position you will be responsible for: 

• Creating a nurturing and ordered learning environment that is learner-centred, supportive, cooperative, and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents and practices
• Collaboratively developing and implementing quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy; evaluating their effectiveness; assessing and reporting student progress and learning outcomes; and reporting these to students, parents and the community
• Working collaboratively with the leadership team, teachers and other staff members in contributing to the professional life of the school and fostering a positive school culture
• Proactively engaging with professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes
• Establishing positive relationships in the pastoral care of students and supporting their spiritual and moral development
• Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church form a foundation for learning and teaching.
