How you’ll make an impact in this role
Cultivate a High-Performing Care Team: Lead the full talent lifecycle, from strategic hiring to personalized mentorship, ensuring every nurse is empowered, trained, and aligned with our mission of compassionate care.
Optimize Unit Workflow and Resources: Direct daily operations and staff scheduling to ensure the department is always prepared to respond to fluctuating patient volumes with agility and excellence.
Resolve Barriers to Patient Care: Identify and eliminate operational "bottlenecks" in real-time, creating a seamless environment where your team can focus entirely on patient outcomes and safety.
Ensure Clinical and Regulatory Excellence: Uphold the highest standards of safety and compliance within the unit, protecting both our patients and our clinicians through rigorous adherence to accreditation requirements.
Steward Departmental Health: Manage the unit budget and expenditures with a strategic eye, ensuring your team has the necessary tools, technology, and supplies to provide world-class emergency services.
What minimum requirements you’ll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
- Required professional licensure/certification AND 3 years of experience and 1 year of cumulative leadership experience required.
What additional preferences we're seeking
- Brings a minimum of five years of bedside nursing experience, including at least two years in a leadership role within an Emergency Room setting.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to upholding and modeling the core values of Ascension.
