The Opportunity: The Carpenter is responsible for performing a wide range of carpentry, maintenance, repair, and construction duties across the club’s facilities and grounds. This position plays an important role in maintaining the overall appearance, safety, and functionality of club buildings, amenities, and member-facing spaces. The Carpenter will work closely with the Facilities and Maintenance teams to complete projects and respond to operational needs in a timely and professional manner.

Duties and Functions

  • Perform general carpentry repairs and construction projects throughout the property.
  • Repair and maintain doors, windows, trim, cabinetry, flooring, drywall, ceilings, and other building components.
  • Construct, install, and repair furniture, fixtures, shelving, fencing, and club amenities as needed.
  • Assist with renovations, remodeling projects, and seasonal property improvements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders to complete assigned tasks.
  • Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and woodworking equipment safely and effectively.
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and identify repair needs throughout the property.
  • Coordinate with Facilities, Engineering, and other departments to support club operations and special events.
  • Ensure all work areas remain clean, organized, and safe at all times.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and applicable building codes and regulations.
  • Assist with emergency repairs and other maintenance-related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain inventory of carpentry materials, supplies, and equipment.

Qualification Standards

  • Previous carpentry or general construction experience required.
  • Experience in commercial, hospitality, residential, or country club environments preferred.
  • Working knowledge of carpentry techniques, tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver’s license may be required based on property needs.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as operational needs require.
