
Program Specialist (54311)
Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Program Specialist will develop and execute programming in their assigned program/work site. He/she will provide services as needed by the program in addition to administrative tasks such as managing the budget and day to day tasks of the building or program. He/she will manage staff that are designated to the program.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop schedule and programming of activities.
Link individuals to appropriate community resources.
Hire and provide supervision to employees within the program.
Perform day to day tasks for the building and programming.
Arrange employee schedules.
Consistently schedule and conduct program meetings.
Assist program participants as needed and appropriate.
Collaborate with LifeSkills staff and external providers to assist in individuals’ recovery from mental illness and/or substance use.
Use personal vehicle for outreach opportunities and/or transport participants as needed (must maintain current license and vehicle insurance).
Conduct oneself morally, and ethically, serving as a positive role model.
Provide billable services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have high school diploma or GED. Some positions require a certification with one year of experience working with individuals with mental health illness. Must have reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Must possess strong written and verbal skills. Must be willing and able to work flexible hours at times. Criminal background checks to meet agency standards.
JOB REQUIREMENTS / EXPECTATIONS:
Provide crisis intervention as needed. Utilize redirection and de-escalation techniques.
Assure confidentiality of individual records and adhere to agency policy concerning HIPAA regulations.
Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor, clinical supervisor, and other team members, as needed.
Complete and submit all required documentation accurately and timely (i.e. incident reports, time sheets, progress notes, etc.)
Attend scheduled staff meetings for supervision monthly, service team meetings, etc.
Complete all training updates by required deadlines.
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
