Role Overview:

The FP&A Business Analyst at eBay is a fantastic opportunity to join our world-class team in Berlin. This role plays a pivotal part in driving growth and excellence in information technology. It focuses on performance analysis, revenue forecasting, and turning data insights into actionable strategies that support our ambitious business objectives.

You will be part of a cross-functional, data-driven team. Collaborating with partners across Marketing, Risk, Product, and Engineering will be essential to provide clear insights and scalable solutions. Our team is committed to crafting business strategy, enhancing decision-making, and supporting balanced growth through analytics and planning excellence.

What you'll accomplish:

  • Monitor business performance by tracking important metrics, analyzing trends, and identifying risks and opportunities

  • Conduct variance analysis (actuals vs. forecast/plan) and determine actionable corrective measures

  • Prepare and present regular performance reports and dashboards for leadership

  • Develop and manage short- and long-term forecasts aligned with business goals, and lead annual, quarterly, and monthly topline planning cycles

  • Deliver timely, high-quality analyses to address business questions, investigate data discrepancies, and support evolving priorities

  • Improve data workflows and reporting processes by implementing automation and scalable solutions

  • Collaborate with partners across Marketing, Risk, Product, and Engineering to align initiatives with broader business objectives

  • Find opportunities to use modern technologies, including AI and advanced analytics, to improve reporting, efficiency, and decision-making

What you'll bring:

  • 6+ years of experience applying data analytics to solve complex business problems

  • Strong hands-on expertise in SQL; proficiency in Python preferred; advanced Excel skills required

  • Experience in forecasting and financial modeling

  • Demonstred ability to work with large, complex datasets and perform deep-dive analyses to uncover insights and trends

  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams

  • Experience building automated workflows, data pipelines, and scalable reporting systems

  • Effective communication skills with the ability to translate analytical findings into clear business insights and recommendations

  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment with strong ownership and a structured problem-solving approach

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience
