
INDIVIDUAL HEALTH PRODUCING PROCESSOR
Job Description
Job Summary:
The Individual Health Producing Processor generates revenue through the sales of Individual Health insurance products. Sales-focused position requiring advanced communication skills and a thorough knowledge of insurance products. Capable of pursuing and closing sales for new and existing Individual Benefits accounts.
The Individual Health Producing Processor is expected to have excellent attendance and communication skills, possess the ability to build lasting business relationships, and exhibit professionalism.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prospect new business primarily by phone, mail, referral or other marketing and lead generation techniques for identified target markets in accordance with agency guidelines
- Follow up on referrals provided by agency team within designated time frame
- Develop and convey formal proposals of insurance including details of coverages, limits, deductibles, and other pertinent information
- Supports policy reviews
- Processes ID Cards and proof of coverage requests
- Maintains files with proper records according to company procedures
- Assists in the development of strong business relationships with appropriate insurance carrier personnel
- Submit, rate, quote, and place quality new business in accordance with agency and company appetites
- Communicate effectively with customers, agency, and company personnel
- Adhere to agency procedures and utilization of the agency management system to maintain client documentation and reduce agency exposure to Errors and Omissions
- Comply with all regulatory requirements regarding licensing, sales, and service of Individual Health business
- Complete and maintain required reports and attend all sales and personal lines meetings as required
- Keep informed of industry developments through community involvement and continuing education
- Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by agency management
- Assisting in the servicing of the existing client book of business including assisting with annual renewals
- Drafting emails and sending and tracking required policy documentation including consent and authorization
- Works with Producer to secure necessary underwriting information
- Review daily correspondence, report, endorsements, loss control reports and inspections
- Maintain current knowledge of underwriting requirements and authority outlined by each carrier
- Responsible for servicing a book of business as directed by Individual Health & Medicare Manager or team lead
- Awareness of all Account Manager duties and responsibilities
- Ability to support Account Managers when needed and as directed
- Inputting new clients and updating existing clients in the agency's customer management database including scanning and attaching applications for insurance and supporting underwriting documentation
- Assisting with appointment scheduling as directed by the department manager
- Assisting with tabling and enrollment events as directed by the department manager
- Other duties deemed as needed by the department manager to assist in the smooth operation of the department

- Ability to read and interpret important documents
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages
- An individual should have knowledge of agency management systems (Applied Epic a plus)
- Proficiency with Microsoft suite
- Knowledge of insurance markets
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Agency management system computer skills
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- 1-3 years’ sales experience in insurance or industry related field required
- Active 2-15 License is required
Physical Demands:
- Must be able work with a computer for a minimum of 7 hours daily either standing or sitting
- Must be able to read printed materials and computer screen with or without MS or other software accessibility functions
- Must be able to effectively communicate in e-mail, by phone, or in person during the course of the workday
