Pay Range: $20.96 to $30.41 

Actual pay will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, proficiency for the role, and internal equity. In addition to base pay, Kwik Trip gives 40% of pre-tax profits back to our coworkers with bonuses ranging from 8-12% of each coworker’s gross annual wage depending on company profitability and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k, paid time off, and more.

 


Kwik Trip’s Store Engineering Department has an opening for an HVAC Technician.

Location: DeForest, WI

What you’ll be doing…

As an HVAC Technician at Kwik Trip, you’ll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across our facilities. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably to support store operations and coworker comfort.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and perform maintenance on HVAC systems and related equipment
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues
  • Perform emergency repairs promptly and efficiently
  • Order and manage parts inventory for service and repairs
  • Change filters, clean, and adjust HVAC systems to maintain peak performance
  • Interpret and work from blueprints and schematics
  • Ensure compliance with HVAC codes and safety standards

You’ll need to have…

  • High school diploma or GED
  • HVAC degree or equivalent technical education
  • EPA Universal Certification (optional)
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of electrical control circuits, plumbing, ductwork, and refrigerants
  • Understanding of applicable HVAC codes and safety regulations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand and walk frequently (up to 8+ hours per day)
  • Lift up to 75 pounds
  • Bend, squat, twist, stoop, kneel, and crouch frequently
  • Grasp, pinch, and grip tools and equipment
  • Work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures

Work Schedule:
40–50 hours per week. Typically Monday through Friday, daytime hours. This position includes rotating on-call responsibilities, including evening and weekend shifts as needed.
