The Role

The mission of the Legal & Compliance Department is to provide Catalent with world-class legal services that help it to grow and achieve its business goals. The department does so by ensuring that the advice given, and services provided, are strategic, timely, proactive, practical, cost-effective, and meet the highest legal, ethical, and professional standards. The team is comprised of more than 50 attorneys, paralegals, and other professionals in the U.S., Europe, South America and Asia. Areas of expertise include general commercial law (including customer and vendor contracting), corporate governance and securities, ethics and compliance, intellectual property, privacy, labor and employment, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory.

Catalent is seeking an energetic and business-minded law student to intern in its legal department. The Legal Intern will be exposed to and assigned a wide variety of projects in various areas of the law. Candidates should have strong organizational and writing skills, excellent attention to detail and be able to work independently. Catalent’s Legal & Compliance Department is actively integrating artificial intelligence to enhance legal operations, improve efficiency, and support responsible innovation. Legal interns will have exposure to Catalent’s AI governance framework and hands‑on experience supporting approved AI use cases, including the development of internal AI agents. Depending on the candidate’s skills and interests, projects may include supporting:

• AI Use and Compliance, including development of AI Agents for optimizing legal operations
• Catalent’s ethics and compliance program
• Developing and revising corporate policies and training
• Intellectual property
• Commercial contracting and transactions
• Human Resources policies, counseling, and dispute resolution
• Corporate governance

The internship is designed to provide hands‑on experience with in‑house legal practice, exposure to cross‑functional business partners, and meaningful responsibility under the guidance of experienced legal and compliance professionals.

The Candidate

In order to be eligible for an internship at Catalent, you must meet the following requirements:

• Rising second-year law student (having completed the first year of law school) currently enrolled in an LLB programme
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail, desire to learn, and interest in corporate law
• Interest in artificial intelligence, emerging technologies, data privacy, and technology governance (required)
• Eligible to legally work in the United Kingdom
• Work full time (37 hours/week) for an 8-week period
• This position is based on site at Catalent’s office. In‑office attendance is required Monday through Thursday, subject to business needs and manager approval. Interns are expected to work during standard business hours.
