
Manager of Donations & Statewide Distribution
Job Description
The Manager of Donations & Statewide Distribution oversees the day-to-day warehouse and distribution operations that move donated pet food and essential supplies to partners across the state. This role blends hands-on warehouse leadership (including forklift operation), data-driven reporting, partner relationship development, and program management for the GOODS Program.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently; ensure staff/volunteers follow safety standards and best practices.
- Manage warehouse flow: receiving, unloading, staging, storage, picking, palletizing, loading, and outbound distribution.
- Maintain organized warehouse layout and inventory locations to support high-volume movement and rapid fulfillment.
- Oversee warehouse cleanliness and monitor/report issues regarding pest prevention, and safe storage conditions.
- Coordinate with carriers and vendors for freight appointments, dock scheduling, and trailer/container arrivals.
- Serve as point lead for donation intake from corporate and community donors.
- Ensure accurate inventory control: counts, lot/date tracking when applicable, damage documentation, product safety recalls and shrink prevention.
- Plan and coordinate statewide distribution schedules to partners, including pickups, deliveries, and occasional route coordination.
- Assist with pickup and delivery of donations as needed, including customer-facing interactions with corporate partners.
- Produce and submit operational reports for review on a consistent cadence and in a timely manner.
- Track and report key metrics such as inbound/outbound pounds, pallets moved, recipient fulfillment, on-time distribution, inventory aging/short-dated movement, and donor/partner activity.
- Build and maintain partnerships with animal welfare organizations and other qualified agencies statewide.
- Represent the organization professionally with corporate donors, logistics partners, and community organizations by delivering exceptional customer service and responsiveness.
- Support partner onboarding and engagement, ensuring partners understand processes, expectations, and distribution requirements.
- Solicits partner feedback for continuous program improvements.
- Identify, manage, and screen GOODS program recipients. This includes managing the application process and regular communication with recipients.
- Complete and submit as-received inventory, as-distributed inventory, and other record keeping per GOODS program requirements.
- Coordinate donation distribution events, ensuring compliance with GOODS program requirements and recommendations.
- Collect GOODS program recipient payments and reporting. Screen for online reselling and follow up with recipients as needed.
- Proactively identify potential conflicts and provide thoughtful, practical ideas for resolution/avoidance.
- Provide regular reporting and detailed data to immediate supervisor upon request.

- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Demonstrated warehouse operations experience, including inventory handling and shipping/receiving.
- Forklift operation experience (certification preferred; ability to train for certification within the first month of employment)
- Strong computer skills with the ability to learn and use multiple software tools.
- Proven ability to generate, interpret, and submit accurate reports on time.
- Strong communication and customer service skills; comfortable interacting with corporate partners and nonprofit stakeholders.
- Valid Georgia driver’s license or ability to obtain a valid Georgia driver’s license. Candidate must complete AHS safe driver training and must be an insurable driver by the AHS insurance provider.
- Ability to operate trucks of various sizes and weights
- Must be willing to travel across the State of Georgia as needed, with out-of-state travel possible
- Flexibility to work occasional evening and weekends as needed.
