Mission:
Quantum Research International supports the advancement of a forward-deployed data transport capability enabling secure, high-speed movement of mission data from operational environments in INDOPACOM to DoD cloud platforms world-wide. This role focuses on execution and sustainment of data center operations and data movement workflows across classified and unclassified environments, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient system performance in support of mission requirements, as well as related forward-edge data center, cloud, and network engineering efforts. This role is responsible for maintaining day-to-day technical operations within the forward area network environment, while supporting the integration, stand-up, and sustainment of similar capabilities across additional sites and mission efforts as required.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Responsibilities:
- Execute and sustain day-to-day data center operations, including system integration, configuration, and troubleshooting across compute, storage, and network infrastructure
- Execute data movement workflows between forward systems and cloud environments (AWS), ensuring reliability and performance
- Execute and troubleshoot high-volume data transfers across local and cloud environments, ensuring data integrity, throughput, and mission timelines are met
- Configure, integrate, and maintain Layer 2/3 network infrastructure across multi-vendor environments (Cisco, Juniper, Versa, Arista)
- Support operation and maintenance of UNIX/Linux and Windows-based systems within the data center environment
- Coordinate and monitor data center facility requirements, including power, cooling (HVAC), and rack integration to ensure system stability and availability
- Support integration and sustainment of diverse transport mechanisms, including terrestrial networks, commercial satellite (e.g., Starlink), MILSAT, and RF communications (LOS/BLOS), ensuring reliable connectivity across distributed environments
- Support implementation and sustainment of cybersecurity and Information Assurance practices, including system hardening, STIG application, network monitoring, RMF artifact gathering, and vulnerability mitigation
- Support COMSEC-related activities, including handling, integration, and accountability of encryption devices (e.g., KG-175, KG-250 or similar) in accordance with applicable policies
- Troubleshoot network, system, facility, and data transport issues across tactical and enterprise environments
- Work with site leadership to translate operational requirements into technical execution and provide inputs for ongoing efforts
- Support working-level technical discussions and provide input on ongoing technical activities as required
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience supporting DoD network, cyber, or data center operations
- Strong hands-on experience with Layer 2/3 networking, routing, and switching across enterprise and tactical environments
- Experience configuring and maintaining network infrastructure using Cisco and similar platforms
- Experience operating within data center environments, including server, storage, and network integration, as well as supporting facility components (power, cooling, rack systems)
- Familiarity with cloud environments such as AWS and/or Google Cloud and associated data transfer workflows
- Experience supporting UNIX/Linux and Windows-based systems
- Experience working in classified environments, including handling sensitive data and COMSEC or encryption devices
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity and Information Assurance practices, including system hardening, STIGs, monitoring, and vulnerability mitigation
- Strong troubleshooting experience across network, system, and transport layers in operational environments
- Active Top-Secret clearance (SCI eligibility required)
