Huntleigh USA is actively and urgently seeking a General Manager at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.

This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all operational and financial aspects of the assigned airport location. This is an immediate hire need due to operational demand.

 

 

SUMMARY

 

The General Manager will lead, manage, and direct all Huntleigh USA operational and financial aspects of the assigned location. Reporting to a District Manager and/or Regional Director, the ideal candidate will have aviation security and passenger services experience, along with strong operational leadership, client relationship, human resources, financial management, analytical, and organizational skills.

 

This individual must demonstrate strong judgment, decision-making ability, confidentiality, and the ability to apply experience toward improving operational performance and service delivery across all assigned clients and functions.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

• Reports directly to the District Manager/Regional Director and communicates with Huntleigh USA Corporate Office as needed
• Provides overall supervision of all Huntleigh USA operations at the assigned airport and any ancillary locations
• Oversees all operational functions, including passenger services, wheelchair services, guard services (aircraft, ramp, unclaimed baggage, vendor screening, catering security), charter flight pre-board screening, and related services as assigned
• Maintains adequate staffing levels and scheduling to meet daily operational requirements and future forecasting needs
• Ensures accurate and timely payroll processing, personnel records, and training documentation in compliance with audit standards
• Responsible for achieving Profit & Loss (P&L) objectives in alignment with approved budgets
• Oversees billing accuracy and assists with collection of delinquent accounts as required
• Reports operational incidents and unusual circumstances to District Manager/Regional Director and Corporate Office in real time
• Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations as well as airline and company policies and procedures
• Serves as liaison with client airlines, airport authorities, and government agencies
• Oversees recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing performance management of staff
• Ensures timely communication of security directives, policies, and procedural updates to all stakeholders
• Maintains a high level of professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential matters
• Manages labor relations and union/collective bargaining agreements where applicable

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

• High school diploma required; college degree preferred
Minimum of 1 year management experience required
• 2–5 years of aviation, airport operations, aviation security, military, or related client services experience preferred
• Strong operational, financial, HR, and administrative management capabilities
Paycom or similar workforce management system experience preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred
• Strong ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

 

This role operates in a 24/7 airport environment with exposure to active flight operations, passengers, airline partners, and ground service teams. The General Manager must demonstrate flexibility, urgency, and strong leadership in a dynamic operational setting.
