Job Description
Our award-winning theme park, Anakeesta, is seeking an Audio Technician Intern to join our Technical Operations team. This internship is designed for students or early-career professionals who want hands-on experience in live entertainment production and themed-environment audio systems.
You’ll gain real-world exposure to live sound mixing, system maintenance, event setup, and technical production while working alongside experienced technicians in a fast-paced park environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Assist with mixing live audio for stage and roaming performances
- Support daily rehearsals with audio and stage setup
- Help perform pre- and post-show checks to ensure smooth execution
- Assist with audio equipment changeovers between shows and events
- Support daily audio system scheduling and organization
- Help maintain and troubleshoot park audio systems and related components
- Assist with audio programming and placement for special events and holidays
- Support installation and termination of CAT5/6 cabling for audio systems
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
- Log daily repairs and equipment needs
- Provide cross-department support with lighting and video as needed
- Assist with transporting equipment and supplies using company vehicles
- Participate in additional technical department tasks as assigned
What You Need
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program related to audio production, theater, entertainment technology, or a similar field
- Basic understanding of live sound equipment and technical theater
- Familiarity with DMX cabling and audio systems is a plus
- Willingness to learn troubleshooting and equipment maintenance
- Ability to read and understand basic schematics and manuals (preferred)
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work at heights when needed
- Flexible schedule and dependable attendance

Must be able to safely lift, carry, and move materials independently and with team assistance when necessary.

Ability to perform physical tasks including pushing, pulling, grasping, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and reaching overhead.

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, including on uneven surfaces and stairs.

Ability to safely handle heavy, bulky, or awkward items using proper lifting techniques and assistance as needed.

Capable of working in a physically demanding environment with frequent movement and manual labor activities.
Bonus experience (not required):
- Basic networking knowledge
- SMPTE timecode familiarity
- Soldering or light PCB repair
