Job Description
Essential Job Function
- Supports patients with daily living tasks, including meals, personal care, and progressive mobility in order to support the recovery and plan of care.
- Assesses patients' quality of life related to nutrition, hydration, and elimination in order to distribute resources and anticipate patient needs.
- Admits, transfers, and discharges patients in order to move them to the appropriate locations in line with the plan of care.
- Assists with patient elimination needs, including ostomy care, enemas, and condom catheters to provide comfortable care for patients.
- Helps to maintain unit inventories of supplies and equipment in order to ensure a clean and safe environment in adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Checks that fall risk patients have the appropriate arm bands, socks, and signage to ensure physical safety.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Required: 1 year of related experience
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required: Certification required by State of North Carolina DHHR. Nurse Aide Certification required. BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
