
Occupational Therapist I or II - Inpatient
Job Description
Essential Job Function
- Evaluates and treats all diagnoses and more complex patients.
- Conducts thorough evaluations of patients' physical abilities, medical history, and functional limitations to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Administers therapeutic exercises and other occupational therapy interventions to improve patients' strength, flexibility, and range of motion.
- Educates patients and their families on treatment plans, home exercises, and self-management techniques to improve recovery outcomes.
- Collaborates with other in developing and implementing discharge plans and recommendations for continued care and may require some guidance from other team members.
- Monitors and documents patients' progress, treatment outcomes, and responses to interventions so that treatment plans can be adjusted as needed.
- Collaborates on teams from different departments to ensure coordinated patient care and holistic treatment outcomes.
- Assists with orientation and training of new staff, demonstrates an ongoing commitment to improve the performance and skill of co-workers.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in occupational therapy.
Experience:
- Required: 2 years
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: Licensed by the North Carolina Occupational Therapy Board; BLS (CPR), American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
