Job Description
Essential Job Function:
- Performs spiritual care visitations to patients to provide consistent spiritual and emotional care.
- Assesses spiritual needs and provides consultation to patients, families and caregivers in a timely and supportive manner.
- Writes up notes for the medical staff and makes recommendations to help improve the patient’s mindset and emotional comfort.
- Contacts clergy or spiritual counselors to assist in spiritual care of patients and family members upon request.
- Provides emotional and spiritual support to Cone Health employees.
- Maintains working list of local community resources for spiritual and religious supportive services.
- Participates in hospital committees and interdisciplinary efforts as requested or assigned in support of the vision and mission of the Spiritual Care and Counseling Department.
- Provides consultation and offers educational presentations in support of the Clinical Pastoral Education Program and Employee Assistance Counseling Program as requested.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Required: Master's Degree in Divinity from an accredited seminary or equivalent; Four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or equivalent.
