
Transit Support Specialist
Job Description
Essential Job Function:
- Transports patients from one area of the hospital to another, checking their identification information to confirm that the correct person is being transported at the correct time.
- Complies with safety policies and guidelines to ensure that patients are transported safely and within regulation.
- Uses the appropriate Hand-Off tool (Hall Pass, Ticket-to Ride, or other) to document accurately patient status, location and condition.
- Maintains a professional demeanor and provides customer service to assist staff, patients and their families and help answer any pertinent questions about transport.
- Cleans and monitors equipment to find issues that would require the equipment to be replaced or repaired.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Required: 0-1 Years of experience in a hospital.
Licensure/Certification/Listing:
- Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
