Detailed Description
Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
Technical Leadership & Architecture

Develop technical proposals including system and hardware architecture based on product or customer requirements.

Lead the selection of key components (MCUs, FPGAs, Power Management ICs) balancing cost, availability, and performance.

Conduct critical design reviews (Architecture, Schematic, Layout, DFx) to ensure high-quality design output.

Review and interpret customer documentation, conduct appropriate research, and analysis

Ability to create a project/change management plan, establish and distribute project roles, and communicate what is needed from the project participants in order to make the project successful.
Design & Development
-
Design complex mixed-signal, analog, and digital circuits.

Perform schematic capture and oversee or execute complex PCB layouts (multi-layer, high-speed signals, impedance control).

Simulate and analyze circuits and channels using tools like SPICE, CST, Cadence Sigrity to validate design integrity before prototyping.
Testing & Validation

Develop hardware verification plans and lead board bring-up, debugging, and characterization.

Troubleshoot complex hardware issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FCC, CE, UL, RoHS) and EMI/EMC requirements.
Manufacturing & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Firmware/Software teams to define hardware abstraction layers and configurations.

Collaborate with Mechanical Engineering to ensure proper thermal management is implemented and enclosure is designed with reliability and cost in mind.

Manage relationships with JDM partners; oversee the transition from EVT/DVT to PVT and Mass Production.
