
Recreational Therapist

We are currently seeking a Recreational Therapist! The Recreational Therapist is responsible for providing high quality patient care, displaying good skills in assessment, treatment planning, group and individual therapy treatments. The RT is responsible to function well as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and implements the program’s activity therapy program, including planning of daily events, special events and providing in-service for other staff participating in the activity therapy program.
- Conducts activity therapy group sessions and individual sessions as needed, displaying good theoretical knowledge of group principles and good group techniques.
- Completes activity therapy evaluations and progress notes in a prescribed timeframe in the EHR.
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Is responsible to maintain activities equipment and storage in a clean and organized fashion.
- Is responsible to have supplies and activities that are safe and to supervise all supplies so that they are returned or otherwise accounted for after each group or activity.
- Participates in multidisciplinary treatment staffing meetings.
- Displays good interviewing, assessment and reporting skills.
- Communicates appropriately and clearly to peers team members, applicants, and various community agencies. Treats everyone with respect and dignity.
- Acts in a professional manner and follows all of Parkside policies and procedures
- Demonstrates the ability to be organized and flexible, acts appropriately in stressful/emergency situations
- Maintains fit for duty
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Certified Therapeutic Recreational Therapist Oklahoma License
- Ability to effectively communicate in English; both verbally and in writing
- Basic computer knowledge
