The Opportunity:

We are currently seeking a Landscape Designer to join our Landscape Architecture team.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for an emerging design professional to support the planning, design, construction documentation, and construction administration of landscape architecture projects across a variety of markets and project types. You will work alongside landscape architects, planners, engineers, and construction professionals in a collaborative environment focused on delivering innovative and practical design solutions.

This position offers a balanced blend of office-based design production and field-based construction observation, allowing candidates to develop both technical design and project implementation experience.

What You’ll Do:

As a Landscape Designer, you will support project teams through multiple phases of project delivery, including design development, document production, and construction administration. You will contribute to the preparation of landscape plans, calculations, graphics, and field observations while gaining valuable exposure to construction practices and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the preparation and coordination of landscape architecture design and construction documents.
  • Prepare drafts, layouts, and landscape or mitigation calculations under the direction of senior team members.
  • Assist with document production, plotting, distribution, and revisions to project plans and specifications.
  • Participate in field reviews, certifications, site observations, punch walks, and post-design services.
  • Support construction administration activities, including preparation of field reports and coordination during construction.
  • Review installed landscape and hardscape improvements for general conformance with construction documents and design intent.
  • Assist with review of shop drawings, material submittals, and product data related to landscape and site improvements.
  • Provide constructability input during design development based on field observations and understanding of landscape installation practices.
  • Coordinate with contractors, owners, consultants, and internal project teams regarding project implementation.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze project-related data and documentation.
  • Organize and transport project-related materials, samples, supplies, or equipment as needed.
  • Travel to project sites, agencies, consultant offices, and meetings as required to support projects and field activities.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Completion of technical CAD training, or equivalent relevant experience required.
  • Internship or professional office experience in landscape architecture, planning, or design preferred.
  • Experience in landscape construction, such as landscape crew leader, foreman, superintendent, or related field experience, preferred.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Knowledge of landscape architecture design principles, plant materials, land planning, and construction detailing.
  • Familiarity with landscape construction means and methods including planting, irrigation, grading, and hardscape installation.
  • Ability to read and interpret landscape architecture, civil engineering, and construction documents.
  • Familiarity with construction administration processes including RFIs, submittals, punch lists, and field reports.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, consultants, and clients.
  • Comfortable working in active construction environments and traversing undeveloped or partially completed project sites.
  • Interest in professional growth and long-term development within the landscape architecture profession.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 10% as needed.
