What to Expect
The Sr. Integration Engineer is a highly hands-on technical contributor responsible for designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise integration solutions. This role focuses on engineering high-quality integrations primarily using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and TIBCO, while contributing to the modernization of legacy integrations and adoption of API-led and microservices-based integration patterns. This role collaborates closely with integration architects and application teams to implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable integrations while also serving as a resource responsible for code quality, integration standards adherence, and troubleshooting complex integration issues. In addition, this role contributes to refactoring legacy integration services and decomposing tightly coupled integrations into reusable APIs and microservices where appropriate.
What You Will Do
1. Integration Development & Engineering Delivery
· Design, develop, test, and deploy APIs and integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform including DataWeave transformations, reusable connectors, and API-led connectivity patterns.
· Lead end to end projects, integrating and working with offshore resources to drive integration projects.
· Coach and mentor offshore developers on best practice implementations.
· Implement enterprise integrations using REST APIs, event-driven messaging, and service-based integration approaches.
· Develop and maintain reusable integration assets and services to promote API reuse and reduce duplication across integration solutions.
· Build resilient integrations with appropriate error handling, logging, retry strategies, and performance optimization.
2. TIBCO Integration Development & Legacy Support
· Develop and support integrations using TIBCO BusinessWorks and EMS including messaging, pub/sub, and event-driven integration patterns.
· Maintain and enhance existing legacy integration services while identifying opportunities to modernize them using MuleSoft and API-driven patterns.
· Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to integration performance, messaging reliability, and service orchestration
3. Integration Design Collaboration & Code Quality
· Collaborate with integration architects and application teams to translate architecture designs into working integration implementations.
· Review technical specifications and provide engineering feedback to improve integration design feasibility and implementation quality.
· Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to enterprise integration standards and best practices.
4. Legacy Modernization & Microservices Enablement
· Analyze existing integration services and identify opportunities to refactor legacy implementations into reusable APIs or microservices.
· Support efforts to migrate selected integration services from TIBCO to MuleSoft where appropriate.
· Assist in reducing tightly coupled integrations and promoting API-led connectivity.
5. Integration Support
· Design and support Informatica ETL pipelines used for batch processing and enterprise data integration needs.
· Collaborate with data engineering teams to support batch data movement and transformation requirements.
· Assist in diagnosing production issues and implementing corrective solutions to ensure integration reliability.
What You Will Bring
· Minimum 8 years’ progressive experience in enterprise integration, middleware development, or API engineering with hands-on development experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including:
o API-led connectivity architecture
o DataWeave transformations
o Mulesoft vibes for Faster API/Integration development
o Mulesoft API’s to Salesforce Agentforce
o REST API implementation
o Reusable integration assets
· Experience with TIBCO BusinessWork, RESTful APIs, event-driven integrations, and enterprise service integrations
· Experience working in cloud or hybrid environments (AWS preferred).
· Experience supporting legacy integration environments and modernization initiatives
· Experience participating in code reviews and enforcing engineering standards
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
· Preferred certifications:
o MuleSoft Certified Developer
o TIBCO integration certifications
o Informatica certification (optional)
· Strong hands-on development expertise in MuleSoft integration development.
· Working knowledge of TIBCO BusinessWorks and enterprise messaging platforms.
· Ability to interpret architecture designs and implement integrations aligned with architectural standards.
· Solid understanding of enterprise integration patterns including request/response, pub/sub, and event-driven messaging.
· Strong data transformation experience using JSON, XML, and relational data models.
· Experience implementing error handling, logging, monitoring, and performance tuning for integration services.
· Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices for integration deployments.
· Strong problem-solving ability in diagnosing complex integration issues.
· Ability to collaborate effectively in Agile engineering teams.
Work Environment
Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an at home and office environment.
